Storm Student Ministries is the student ministry of Oakview Baptist Church, Okeechobee, Florida.  Storm was conceived as we searched for God's purpose for our youth group.  In Matthew 7:24-25, Jesus compares two men...one who built his house on the rock and the other who built on sand.  As the storms came, only the house built on the rock stood.  Of course, this parable refers to much more than the proper foundation on which to build one's house...it points to the proper foundation on which to build one's life.  That foundation, of course, is Jesus Christ.  Each of us endures storms in this life...how you stand in those storms depends on your relationship with Jesus.

We feel that our purpose for existence is to be used by God for His praise while meeting the needs of others, reaching out to the lost, upholding one another, and teaching His truth.  As a matter of fact, each letter of our name stands for one of these purposes:

We feel that God has a unique plan and purpose for each person's life.  That makes each life important and valuable.  It is our desire to help you as you seek out that perfect plan for your life.
